Staff Pick: ‘Every Nite Is Emo Nite’
To celebrate its third anniversary, Emo Nite, which started in Los Angeles, released a ten-minute documentary following three Emo Nite attendees at different venues across the country. People have preconceived notions of emo culture, but “Every Night Is Emo Nite” shows the importance of the event for those looking for an escape by wearing all black and singing along to the soundtrack of their broken adolescence alongside hundreds of others. Emo Nite is for outcasts to have a place where they feel accepted, and this documentary shows listening to sad music can make people feel better. Emo Nite LA will appear in Omaha, Nebraska, at The Waiting Room on Dec. 21.
